Salvador Mungia graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center with honors in 1984. After two judicial clerkships he began private practice with Gordon Thomas Honeywell in 1986 where he has practiced since that time. Sal believes in serving his profession and he has done so on multiple levels. He has been the president of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association (1999-2000), the Washington State Bar Association (2009-2010), and the Western States Bar Association (2014). He is currently a delegate to the ABA House of Delegates where he has served since 2013. For the past ten years he has had the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell of AV Preeminent. He is recognized by “Best Lawyers In America” in the fields of commercial, appellate, civil rights, and personal injury – plaintiff. He is recognized as one of the top 100 trial lawyers by the American Trial Lawyers Association. Sal is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and Litigation Counsel of America – both invitation only organizations. Sal is a supporter of access to justice: he has served on the Board of Directors of Legal Aid for Washington and has served as president of that organization. He has co-chaired the Campaign for Equal Justice with then Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna. He has represented clients pro bono in state and federal court actions to protect their constitutional and civil rights.
