The Robert’s Fund Civility Center for the Law is reaching out to other law schools with its message that civility is critical to the practice of law and the pursuit of justice. We are offer a law school package that includes a one-hour program on professionalism and civility for law students, a one- or two-hour faculty-development program focusing on how to develop a pedagogy that fosters professionalism and civility within the classroom and institution, and a one-hour CLE-credit-application-ready program for the alumni of the law school. We believe this three-tiered approach will have the greatest impact as we present incentives and strategies for increasing civility in our profession to the newest members of our profession, to the faculty who help shape lawyers, and to current practitioners.

As a non-profit seeking to deliver its message to the widest possible audience of legal professionals, the Civility Center offers extremely cost-effective programs. Generally speaking, the Civility Center seeks only reimbursement for expenses and an honorarium in the form of a contribution to Robert’s Fund. This package allows law schools a cost-efficient way to introduce the critical issue of civility in our profession to its students and faculty and, as a bonus, provides a ready-made opportunity to offer a highly relevant and useful CLE program for law school alumni.
